Another lens

We provide courses for anyone with a love of photography.

We believe that it is beneficial to base courses in particular geographical  areas, even online, offering people a sense of connection to their local landscapes.

More on Another Lens

What wiIl I learn?

Much of the content is finding meaning in our surroundings and learning how to communicate ideas through our photography.

You will become familiar with noticing good light and exploring rules of composition and ways to sometimes break these for good effect! You will be tuning in to your local environment and exploring your own creativity. A different theme will be explored each week based on the seasons and we tend to use nature across many photographic genres in an artistic way.

Our Approach

Well Image  encourages people to experiment and learn at their own pace in a non -competitive environment. Photography is also an excellent tool for slowing down and becoming more present in the moment. Complete beginners are welcome as well as those who are knowledgeable about the settings on their camera.

How will I learn?

We will be meeting for a friendly, informal tutorial and discussion over Zoom limited to 10 places. The tutor, provides a non-competitive and collaborative space. Inspiration and encouragement is provided for you, wherever you are on your photography journey. An activity is set to do between sessions.

Photography, wellbeing and the environmental crisis

Vanessa Miles, founder of Well Image, will be presenting a series of images and leading a discussion on how photography can shape how we see the world. Participants will be encouraged to offer their thoughts.

Vanessa is a photographer who has had her images published extensively on a range of environmental issues. She has worked for Greenpeace and The Woodland Trust. She set up the UK's first independent picture library specialising in environmental images supplying the UK national press back in 1989.

Thursday 15th May 18.00 hrs.
