Our Mission

Our Mission

Our Mission

Photography can act  as a powerful catalyst to help  people to:

  • engage with nature
  • become more mindful
  • increase time being active
  • enhance creativity
  • connect people and communities

This wholistic approach can transform mental health

The above aims are closely aligned with the NHS's 5 ways to mental health which are very well researched.

Our Approach

Our Mission

Our Mission

At Well Image CIC, we run non-competitive, inclusive courses.

Training is provided, which enable people to use photography as a visual language to express themselves and explore their creativity.

Nature is a core theme  explored across many genres of photography. People can  engage in our courses whether they use a phone or a camera, wherever they are, and whatever access to nature they have.

We have worked with:

Supporting those with Long term health illness and anxiety

Our aims

Well Image, as an innovation, tackles health disparities and inequalities facing some of society's most isolated individuals.  We have a holistic approach.

Our work aims to facilitate creative expression, build confidence and foster connections, playing an essential part in supporting mental health.

Our methods have been impactful for those with a long term health condition, a disability or high level of anxiety, many of whom are unable to leave their homes.

This is a timely innovation, using digital technology and the popularity of photography to instil an increased sense of ownership for those who feel unheard and underserved. Well Image aims to:

  • Connect the most isolated in our society through the joy of photography helping participants express themselves and tell their own stories.

  • Use it’s methods to enhance mental health using our 5 aims (closely aligned with those of the NHS 5 ways to Mental Health) which are to: engage with nature, enhance creativity, increase physical activity, connect individuals and communities and practice being present.

  • Working at a deeper systemic level personally and collectively with participants and wider communities to make change.

  • Well Image is informed by evidence-based research.
